Season Update - Getting back on the pitch

Dear Members,

We are heading towards the news we have all been waiting for…the season is about to start!!!

Stage 2 of the lifting of restrictions will see us being able to return to the field for training. This will look a little different to what we are used with restrictions in place to ensure that all members of our club are protected. As these details are still being finalised, we will send another email in regards to when your training sessions are and how these will look ensuring that our club complies with expectations.

We understand that we have been through difficult times and we certainly want the restart of our season to run smoothly. At this point, we need to ensure that all of our members are keen to get on the park (expected season kick off around 26th July – but this is yet to be confirmed). Football Brisbane is still to confirm exact dates however at this point we are looking at the following scenario:

• Competitive teams starting their season around 27th July and playing through to possibly the first week in November

• Mini Roos kicking off approximately 27th July (Could be 12th ) The length of their season is still under discussion and will be announced as soon as possible however preference is for a 15-18 week season

What we need is to parents to contact us as soon as possible to advise the following:

• Intent to play this season

• Preference for Mini Roos Season length

• Shirt Size (All players will be provided with a training shirt)

We would also like to advise our families that our payment plans will restart on the 1st June. If you need to make any adjustments to your plan, please contact our Treasurer, Brad Stanton, to discuss your concerns. We are aware of the current stresses facing our families and will strive to assist all of our families during this time.

We are excited to be returning to the pitch soon and look forward to seeing you around the club soon.

COVID-19 Update 02 May 2020

To all our Valued Members,

Whilst it may look as though we won’t be enjoying a Football Season this year, it seems that there is a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Australia as a whole have taken like ducks to water to social distancing and if this continues, it looks as though we will all be back on the park before you know it, however it will look very different to what we are used to.

Members of our Committee have been attending Webinars with Football Brisbane who are still confident that a full season of fixtures, with occasional midweek games for some age groups, will still be possible with a likely kick off time of Mid-July extending through to Mid-October. Whilst this is later than normal, it will allow us to enjoy their 2020 season. We are hopeful that training will be able to start sooner, hopefully in June however there are no set dates and we continue to communicate with Football Brisbane in regard to this.

As a Committee, we understand the financial hardship many of our families are currently faced with. We are working on a plan to reduce fees for all of our families and will advise you of this as soon as we have worked out a few issues.

We are all missing our football, our football friends and are looking forward to the day we receive the news that we are all waiting for, that our season can finally kick off.

We are weathering the storm of the unchartered waters and as life begins to return to normal, so will our Football season. We encourage you all to download the Government Covid19 app to assist in being able to get our season started.

Thank you all for your patience during these difficult times.

Julie Gordon
